Mutsumi grew up in Japan where she started taking piano lessons at age 5. She came over to the United States in her senior year in high school as a foreign exchange student. She attended Northern Arizona University where she majored in Choral music education and piano performance. She then went on to attend University of Minnesota where she received a master’s degree in Collaborative Piano & Vocal Coaching.
Mutsumi is an active collaborative pianist in the valley where she plays for various music ensemble and musicians including Sonoran Desert Chorale, The Original Tremble Clefs, a choir for people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers, Hamilton High School Choir and Cocopah Middle School choirs.
She has a husband, Jack, and three children, Brian (10) Noah (7) and Miki (3.)
grew up an Army brat and lived all over the United States. He graduated from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2006 with a BS in Psychology and earned an M.Div from General Theological Seminary in 2017. Before coming to Saint Matthew's he worked at Trinity Wall Street, in New York City as a Transitional Deacon and Sacristan.
During his time at in New York Hank also worked as a Chaplain Assistant at Canterbury Downtown, the Episcopal Diocese of New York's College Ministry Program and completed his seminary field education placement in the Pastoral Care Department at Trinity Wall Street.
Prior to attending seminary Hank worked in the Information Technology Field both as a Project Manger and a Systems Engineer for several technology companies. He also served as a counselor at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings, Montana, a residential youth treatment center where he ran therapeutic counseling groups and developed spiritual and educational programming.
He and Bonnie have two children and have attended St. Matthew’s since 2001. Like many musicians Dave has a “day job” - but indulges his love of music by playing piano and singing in a variety of gigs around the Valley.
Dave’s favorite gig is at St. Matthew’s on Sunday’s at the 11:00 Contemporary Service.
earned her undergraduate degree in Choral Music Education from The University of Arizona and Master of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University.
She has sung with numerous chamber and community choirs; this is her 9th year directing church music. Rachel and her husband Charlie have two children, Clara and William.
Rachel recognizes that singing and making music is good for you, physically and spiritually, and feels blessed to work with the people of St. Matthew’s to create profound, spirit-filled music that glorifies God and inspires praise on every tongue.
Amy directs Saint Matthew's Children and Family Ministries. Amy is a native of Arizona and grew up in Tempe. She earned Bachelor and Master degrees of Social Work from Arizona State University, and studied abroad in Mexico for a year.
Amy has been married for 19 years to Jess, they have a teenage son and daughter. Amy has worked as a hospital social worker and was a stay at home mom for several years. She enjoys doing projects around the house, gardening, sewing and practicing Spanish.
Amy's goal is for the children of Saint Mattthew's is to experience God's love through a variety of fun, positive and educational programs geared toward children and their families.
directs Saint Matthew’s Youth Ministries. Kadi grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Texas (go Longhorns!).
Kadi has been happily married for 21 years to her husband Brad, and they have three wonderfully energetic, soccer playing boys. Kadi has been a member of the Saint Matthew’s staff for 14 years. Her love and passion is working with the youth and engaging with parents. She has been a part of 13 VBS programs and 7 youth mission trips. Saint Matthew's has been her home for 16 years, and she hopes to be here for many more!
John keeps Saint Matthew’s looking fine as our Facilities Manager. He was born and raised in Adrian, Michigan.
He is a life-long Episcopalian and served as an acolyte, chalice bearer, Sunday school teacher, and youth leader. John has lived in Arizona since 1981 and is married to his elementary school sweetheart, Wendy.
You might spot John serving as Scoutmaster for Saint Matthew’s Boy Scout Troop – he earned the rank of Eagle Scout way back in 1979.
is our Parish Administrator. She grew up in Albuquerque, NM and attended New Mexico State University for her undergraduate degrees in Economics and Finance.
Janet has lived in Arizona since attending graduate school in Economics at ASU. She is married to her college sweetheart, Mike, and they have two sons and a daughter. The family spends a good deal of time on the soccer field, but when she has the opportunity, she loves painting.
She has painted the backdrop for Saint Matthew’s Vacation Bible School for the last several years and hopes to continue doing this in the coming years!

Debby grew up in San Antonio, Texas and tries to get back to the home state at least once a year. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from The University of Texas and is a Texas Longhorn football fan.
Debby is an avid traveler who loves to explore new places. She dreams that one day she will live on the beach of a secluded island.
serves as Deacon at Saint Matthew’s. Mike is President and CEO of HHI Professionals, a healthcare information systems company that contracts with major health plans.
Mike’s business keeps him on the road most of the time, but you can occasionally find him at our early morning service. Mike’s diaconal ministry centers on assisting individuals with monumental healthcare bills in navigating insurance claim disputes with their personal health plans.
In his spare time (not that there is much of that) Mike travels the world or trims his Bonsai trees.
is a native of South Carolina. He majored in Religious Studies at Hobart College in Geneva, NY where he also worked as a Web Editor and Publicist.
Dominic graduated from The Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA in the Spring of 2011. He has served at congregations in Berkeley and San Rafael, CA and worked as an Intern Chaplain at the University of California-Davis Medical Center.
Prior to coming to St. Matthew’s, Dominic served as the Assistant to the Rector at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Lexington, KY. He is married to Jesse Moore.
