Pass The Plate - Chapel Rock Sunday
The time for summer camp will be here before we know it. There is a greater need for financial support for the Chapel Rock Campership Fund than there has been in years past. It is Diocesan policy that no child gets turned away from attending camp due to a lack of funds. The ability to provide support to these campers is impossible without the kind support from congregations and individual members like you.
This year, summer camp will prove that Love is the Way! Whether a camper is here for the first time or the 13th summer straight, they all have an opportunity to have an experience like none before. Chapel Rock’s campers will have the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus in an environment of acceptance, friendship, creativity, and fun! They have an opportunity to explore their faith and hopefully even embrace the love of Jesus Christ and their fellow cabin mates. There is no better time than now to be part of helping children have this potentially life-changing experience.
The first Sunday of March is recognized across the Diocese as Chapel Rock Sunday. The goal is to raise awareness of the opportunities available at Chapel Rock and raise funds to turn children into campers! An early bird discount is available for everyone who registers before March 31. Tuition for one week at Chapel Rock this summer is $480. We will Pass the Plate on March 3 in hopes of fully funding ten camperships. Partial scholarships are also available to children and youth in our congregation for camp opportunities for kindergarteners through recent high school graduates! Anyone older than 18 by the first day of training can apply to be a camp counselor or volunteer their time running activities at camp.
Donations can be made online at the link below, by check (note Chapel Rock in the memo line), or by placing cash in the offering plate on March 3. We will make one large donation from Saint Matthew's. There is no better time than now to be part of helping children have this potentially life-changing experience.
