History of Creation Care at Saint Matthew’s

October 2020: The Diocese of Arizona Annual Convention calls us to care for the environment and our Earth.

February 2021: Len Salvatori, parish member and Convention Delegate proposes to Fr. Dominic Moore that Saint Matthew’s form a Creation Care Committee. Len calls together a committee of 8-9 parishioners who initiate parish actions which protect the earth:

·       Pass out cloth bags for grocery shopping

·       Collect and recycle plastic bags

·       Meal options and approachable household tips

March 2022: Len returns to work and Gina Bowers becomes the committee’s Acting Chairperson. Halle Trias is a Youth Representative to the Committee. Stay tuned for future activities from your Creation Care Committee!
