Funerals

The funeral rite for the Burial of the Dead at Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Chandler, Arizona follows the Book of Common prayer and includes anthems, psalms, scripture readings and prayers. The service can follow a traditional or contemporary liturgy. Those who mourn may express grief and sorrow as they share in the community's expression of faith, hope, and mutual support in Jesus Christ.

We are an open and welcoming community of people at Saint Matthew’s, and we welcome all into our parish family! We believe in the sacredness of marriage between two consenting adults. We offer the sacrament of the blessing of a marriage to our current congregation members and their families.

Saint Matthew's offers Baptism at least five times a year primarily on Sunday morning. Traditionally on the Feast of the Holy Name, the Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost, All Saints Day and the Feast of Saint Matthew. The Easter Vigil is the only service these are held outside of our 9:00 or 11:00 AM Sunday service except in rare and special circumstances.
