Challenge #4: Water-Saving Tips for the Hot Season!

Here are some super easy ways to save water at home:

  1. When Washing Your Hands:

    • Turn on the water (no need to go full blast).

    • Turn off the water.

    • Apply soap and scrub those digits!

    • Turn the water back on (again, no full blast) and rinse.

    • Turn the water off completely when done.

  2. Before Washing Your Car, do a quick internet seach:

    • “Do I really save water by washing my own vehicle?”

    • “Car washes that use recycled water.”

    • The results might surprise you!

  3. Try an 'Army Shower':

    • Turn ON the shower and get wet.

    • Turn OFF the shower and soap up.

    • Turn ON the shower to rinse, then dry off. You’ll save gallons of water!

  4. Toilets Aren’t for Trash:

    • Only flush the three “P’s”: pee, poo, and (toilet) paper.

    • Even “flushable” wipes should go in the trash, not the toilet.

  5. Chill Drinking Water:

    • Keep a pitcher of drinking water in the fridge rather than running the tap until it cools down.

  6. When Brushing Teeth or Shaving:

    • Turn off the water while you’re brushing or shaving, and only turn it on when you’re ready to rinse.

These simple changes can make a big difference in saving water, especially during this HOT time of year! 🌍💧
