Advent Soup Supper & Evening Prayer Series

Join us for a peaceful and nourishing way to observe Advent at Saint Matthew's with our Soup Supper and Evening Prayer series, held on the first three Thursdays in December. A potluck-style supper will be served at 5:45 PM in the Parish Hall, followed by Evening Prayer at 6:30 PM in the Chapel.

This Advent, we're inviting parishioners to read Show Me Your Ways, Oh Lord: Devotions on the Psalms of Advent by Kathryn Nishibayashi, Beth-Sarah Wright, Nancy Frausto, and Kim Fox. To enrich our Soup Suppers, we'll incorporate an informal discussion on the book, providing an opportunity to reflect together on its insights. You can purchase the book on Amazon, and a limited number of copies will be available at the church for a suggested donation of $10, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Advent is a season of waiting and preparation, marked by reflection, prayer, and quiet hope as we anticipate Christ’s coming—both in the celebration of His birth and in His future return. Our Soup Suppers offer a simple yet meaningful way to share this season together, nourishing both our bodies and spirits as we journey through these weeks of anticipation.

All are welcome to join us for one or all of these evenings. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow parishioners, deepen your faith, and experience the beauty of Advent in community.
