Becoming Beloved Community “Citizen Engagement” Event — Light lunch to be served
Sunday, May 17, 12:15 - 2:00 PM — Parish Hall
Elected officials at all levels control huge budgets and make decisions that impact community wellbeing including public safety, health care, housing, education, and cost of utilities. Many of these issues directly affect members of Saint Matthew’s. The focus of this nonpartisan Citizen Engagement event will be on how we as citizens can take action to increase voter engagement and support citizen access to voting in this election year.
This event will address:
Why does voting matter?
What can citizens do to increase voting participation?
How do you find out about candidates’ qualifications and policy positions?
What can citizens do to confirm and support voting access for themselves and others?
We are citizens both of God’s Realm and our community. Today many citizens are wondering what they can do to strengthen our communities. Attending this Citizen Engagement event will empower you to take civic action for the good of our community. Please consider inviting friends, family, and neighbors.
All are invited to attend this Citizen Engagement event. A light lunch will be served.
