Pass The Plate - Chapel Rock Sunday
Support the Chapel Rock Campership Fund & Help Transform a Child’s Summer!
As summer approaches, the need for financial support for the Chapel Rock Campership Fund is greater than ever. It’s Diocesan policy that no child be turned away from camp due to a lack of funds, but this can only happen through the generous support of individuals like you.
Chapel Rock is more than just a camp—it’s a place where young people experience the love of Jesus Christ, build lasting friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Each summer, children and youth come together to enjoy a variety of activities: team-building exercises on the challenge course, adventures at the lake, and laughter around the campfire. It’s a place of acceptance, fun, and deep spiritual growth, where campers have the opportunity to explore and strengthen their faith in a supportive environment.
For high school students seeking something even more impactful, Chapel Rock offers special Servant Leadership Programs for 9th–12th grade students. These programs, such as W.I.L.D. (Wilderness Introduction to Leadership Development) and Lead Out, provide a hands-on leadership experience while caring for God’s creation and meeting the needs of others. It’s a chance to grow in responsibility and faith, while making a real difference in the lives of others.
Chapel Rock Sunday is a day set aside across the Diocese to raise awareness of these incredible opportunities and support the campership fund. Each week at Chapel Rock costs $495, and we aim to fully fund five camperships through our Pass the Plate event on February 23. Partial scholarships are also available for children and youth in our congregation, from kindergarten through high school, so that everyone has the chance to experience the transformative power of camp.
Your support will help ensure that more children have the opportunity to attend this life-changing experience. Donations can be made the weekend of February 23: online, by check (note "Chapel Rock" in the memo line), or by placing cash in the offering plate. Saint Matthew’s will send one large donation, pooling our gifts to make a lasting impact.
There’s no better time to help make a difference. With your generosity, you can help make summer 2025 a transformative season of faith, friendship, and fun for a child in need.
