Join us for a celebration of beloved hymns inspired by shape note singing and the pentatonic scale. Experience the beauty and joy of early American hymnody and singing schools with hymns based on the do-re-mi-sol-la scale.
We will sing hymns like "All Who Hunger, Gather Gladly" (tune: Holy Manna), "What Wondrous Love is This," and "I Come with Joy" (tune: Land of Rest). We will also sing at least one hymn in canon (as a round).
These hymns are found throughout our Episcopal hymnals, and I'll introduce a few new ones as well. There are no wrong notes, only beautiful harmony. Come and sing with us!
