After decades of struggle due to the Great Depression and WW2, Ascension Mission eventually closed. A complete history entitled “An Ascension in the Desert” may be found in the church office.

The courtyard fountain is dedicated in memory of John Hoover. Jenny Morehouse is the first of many children to play in it following Sunday services.
